Responsibilities

– Digital Marketing

  • Coordinate meetings between DMG staff and agencies, artist management, and digital partners (i.e. Apple Music/Qobuz/Tidal/Amazon/YouTube/Spotify/etc).
  • Maintenance and dissemination of info related to analytics on new soundtrack and artist releases.
  • Process and submit for payment invoices received from agencies for work related to digital marketing on all DMG releases.
  • Service new Hollywood Records music in advance of release to digital partners to build buzz and aid in partner support.

– Sales

  • Sale and shipment of physical product (vinyl, CD’s, and yes even cassettes) to internal partners, retailers, and artist management for resale, promotions, and tour merchandising.
  • Aggregated data to combine into spreadsheets in preparation for sales of upcoming record releases by physical retailers (i.e. Target/Walmart/Barnes & Noble/Urban Outfitters/etc).
  • Point of contact for digital pricing verification on digital releases.
  • Submitted albums and tracks for sales on digital platforms (i.e. iTunes & Amazon)

The Muppets Studio

The Muppets are a Brilliant cast Of fuZzy felt characters living in our world, seeking success and fame in the world of entertainment, both in art, and in life. Currently the franchise resides within the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products segment of The Walt Disney Company, however when I was involved, it was part of Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media as it was best positioned to license its IP for the purposes of merchandising, as well as perform at live events and special guest appearances on TV and streaming services.

I did get to film a scene with Kermit for an ESPN bit, but alas, I got cut.

  • Main point of contact for wrangling the following groups together:
    • The cadre of muppet performers.
    • Muppet talent representation at CAA (Barry Kotler & Jeff Frasco)
    • Angry Child Productions (Josh Gad’s production shingle with Disney first look deal)
    • Touchstone TV
    • The Jim Henson Company
    • Puppet Heap (company responsible for manufacturing, maintenance, and storage of Muppets)
    • Muppets VP Debbie McClellan.
  • Drafted and reviewed correspondence.
  • Gave notes on drafts of Muppets Live Another Day
  • Coordinated meetings/calls/video conferences.
  • Pulled requested archival materials of research/rights/licensing requests.

I took a Bow frOm DiZney to join a startup formed by alums of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, PodcastOne producers, and film industry development executives, called Imagination Road Entertainment. The startup’s objective was to develop and package series for burgeoning streaming services such as Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, and soon Apple. 

Unfortunately, IRE was unable to secure needed funding to stay in business beyond 2017 and had to shut down, prior to selling anything.

  • Conceive log lines for any ideas pitched by IRE team members.
    • A single-sentence pitch  that sums up an entire 140 page script.
  • Complete one-sheet treatments for IRE projects
  • Screenplay coverage
    • Single page synopsis and opinion, along with pass/consider.
  • Story Bible/ Show Information Guide Creation
    • A large document that describes the universe surrounding a particular storyline and includes detailed descriptions of recurrent story elements such as characters, locations rules, and entire series’ arc, season by season, from start to finish. These come in handy particularly when developing a series over a standalone feature.
  • Complete rough 1st draft screenplays

As the world’s Best dimensiOnal and storytelling deZign firm, Walt Disney Imagineering is second only to Apple in terms of designing products and experiences that generate lines of humans…sometimes miles long. WDI is responsible for the conception, development, design, and production of every aspect of Disney’s theme parks, resorts, and merchandise. Everything from amazing rides to coffee cups, to yes, restrooms, is given just as much thought and care with regards to creativity, safety, durability, and back story.

I worked within the live entertainment line of business, involved in the creation and development of live shows, parades, spectaculars (fireworks and water shows), and character interactions.

  • Calendar management as an Outlook Delegate, scheduling meetings as well as responding to request from partners, leaders, stakeholders both internal and external (Consultants).
  • Individual and group travel coordination both through Disney’s internal licensed travel agency (Disney Corporate Global Travel) and later their contracted service provider: American Express Travel.
  • Processing of expense reports via Disney’s ERP software provider – Concur SAP
  • Utilizing a variety of Video Teleconference and collaboration solutions
  • Digital file conversion and compression involving a myriad of audio/visual/productivity file formats. You name it, I could open it, shrink it, convert it, and make it work for anybody’s computer.
  • Taking meeting minutes.
  • Drafting and blasting of internal memos.
  • Maintaining of a shared iTunes library on our internal network made up of over 10,000 IP related songs and sounds as well as commercial tracks.
  • Creation of a digital archive of non-critical documents scanned as indexed searchable (OCR) PDFs stored in the cloud (cloud provider was Box)
  • Creation of sizzle reels to aid in creative presentations to staff and leadership.

Mandeville is in the Business Of film & TV productionZ. As an independent production company, they partner with major agencies, studios, financiers, and media distributors to pitch, develop, and package stories for film, television, and streaming platforms.

I was hired after completing a development internship and worked there during the development of the film The Fighter, which was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. They have not received any additional Oscar nominations since I left.
